Living in Sync:

Aligning our Lives with God

Please join us this semester for Living in Sync: Aligning our Lives with God. 2020 has been a year unlike any other. It has rearranged and turned life upside down.  As our lives and routines have been shaken up, God has revealed areas that He wants to heal.  His desire is to prune away the things in our lives that are not from him and redeem them, so they are aligned with his perfect plan for us.

The Spring semester will offer four options for study, each one that approaches synching our lives with God from a different point of view. Choose your preference from the descriptions below.

TIMES AND LOCATION

The Spring 2021 semester runs from the week of February 1 to the week of April 25. Due to COVID-19, we will meet weekly on Zoom for our small group Bible studies, conversation, community, and prayer.

Operating System

Bible study based on GFC sermon series

Like a computer or smart phone, we each have an operating system that manages and integrates all the important aspects of life. Our operating system impacts our thoughts, our relationships, and how we interact with the world around us. Is your life running on the operating system of heaven or do you need a reboot?  When you reboot, you reload all the original programs, including the operating system itself, and each one gets a fresh start. Join us as we reboot our lives to align with God.

We will take a deeper dive into the content from the GFC weekend sermon series. Provided for you will be the opportunity to do an engaging personal encounter (bible study) each week to broaden your understanding of the sermon topic and to help you apply it to your own life. This study is perfect for women who are new to GFC or have limited time during the week.

Finding I Am by Lysa TerKeurst

How Jesus Fully Satisfies the Cry of Your Heart

What is the deep cry of your heart? The ache in your soul that keeps you up at night? The prayer you keep repeating? Jesus not only cares about this deep, spiritual wrestling, but He also wants to step in and see you through it.

Join Lysa TerKeurst on the streets of Israel to explore the seven I AM statements of Jesus found in the Gospel of John. Through this in-depth study, you will trade feelings of emptiness and depletion for the fullness of knowing who Jesus is like never before. Gain a better understanding of how Jesus’ words 2000 years ago are applicable to the answers we are searching for today.

Finding I Am: How Jesus Fully Satisfies the Cry of Your Heart includes a combination of video teaching by Lysa TerKerurst, individual bible study and weekly small group discussions to apply what is learned during the individual bible study. Each week contains 3 individual bible study lessons, requiring additional outside of class study and preparation time. This study is suggested for women interested in more in-depth study. (Book purchase required)

Surrendered: Letting Go & Living Like Jesus by Barb Roose

Bible study and video teaching

Are you facing a problem in life that you just can’t fix, no matter what you do? Are you disappointed by unchanging circumstances? Perhaps you’ve heard the phrase “Let go and let God.” But that is easier said than done. Is it possible that giving up on what you can’t change is God’s path to peace for your life?

In this in-depth Bible study of Jesus in the wilderness, Barb explores Jesus’ time of testing and contrasts it with the Israelites’ failures in the wilderness.

As you learn from Jesus’ example, you’ll discover six principles that will equip you to let God lead you to victory despite your circumstances as you deal with the problems and pain you are facing. Along the way, you’ll compare Jesus’ responses to those of the Israelites, who also faced a long wilderness season centuries earlier. This study will equip you to give up control, reach for God, let go of fear, and experience the blessings of the surrendered life. It’s possible to let go and live like Jesus, and the result is experiencing God’s power and peace as never before.

Surrendered: Letting Go and Living Like Jesus includes a combination of video teaching by Barbara Roose, individual bible study and weekly small group discussions to apply what is learned during the individual bible study. Each week contains 3 individual bible study lessons, requiring additional outside of class study and preparation time. This study is suggested for women interested in more in-depth study. Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted by Priscilla Shirer

Bible study and video teaching

Interruptions. They’re aggravating. Sometimes infuriating. They shock us; they shake us; they compel us to change. You can’t escape life’s interruptions, but you can change your perspective on them. What do we do when God interrupts our lives? Many times, like Jonah, we run!

Dive into the study of Jonah and discover that what you see as interruption may truly be God’s divine invitation to a life so much bigger than you can imagine. How we handle interruptions actually tells us something about ourselves. Priscilla redefines interruption and shows that interruption is actually God’s invitation to do something beyond our wildest dreams. When Jonah was willing to allow God to interrupt his life, the result was revival in an entire city.

Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted includes a combination of video teaching by Priscilla Shirer, individual bible study and weekly small group discussions to apply what is learned during the individual bible study. Each week contains 3 individual bible study lessons, requiring additional outside of class study and preparation time. This study is suggested for women interested in more in-depth study. (Book purchase required)
